The Secretary of Education has proposed new regulations to implement requirements for the teacher preparation program accountability system under title II of the Higher Education Act of 1965. He is arguing these regulations would result in the development and distribution of more meaningful data on teacher preparation program quality. The proposal is now available for public comment. During the AEPC conference, many participants expressed strong desire to have a greater voice in public policy as it relates to State and Federal Education Policy.
