As we continue preparations for the 2015 APA Convention, we’d like to formally announce two important Division 15 receptions so those attending can mark them in their schedules:
DIVISION 15 OPENING RECEPTION & RECOGNITIONS
Thursday, August 6, 4:00 – 5:50
This reception (which will include great food and a bar!) will be our “opening ceremonies” for the convention, allowing senior faculty, doctoral students, and early career faculty time to interact. Each of the following groups will be honored and thanked – and each person will get a unique “sticker” for that recognition to add to their badge: Past-Presidents, Doctoral Student Seminar Participants; Early Career Seminar Faculty, Committee Chairs and Members; and Award Recipients. All are invited to attend—including spouses, students, and nonmembers!
DIVISION 15 BUSINESS MEETING, PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS, & RECEPTION
Saturday August 8th (Business Meeting at 4:00, Past President’s Address at 5:00, and Reception at 6:00)
In the business meeting, we engage with members to share important updates on the efforts and current status of our organization. This will be followed by a featured address FROM Past President Terri Thorkildsen, and conclude with our final reception, again featuring great food and a bar. In the Business Meeting, we’ll also honor our award recipients* by presenting them with their plaques:
- The E.L. Thorndike Career Achievement Award – Stephen Ceci
- The Richard E. Snow Award for Early Career Contributions – Krista Muis
- The Paul R. Pintrich Outstanding Dissertation Award – Kate Snyder
*Note that recipients are honored one year in arrears so that they can prepare for individual presentations at the convention. Thus, those we honor this year are 2014’s named recipients.
