ABout this session
This year we are excited to include a Presidential Data Blitz Poster Session. These posters were ranked the highest out of the 255 submitted, based on reviewer scores. Data blitz is a new presentation style beginning to appear more frequently across conferences in the social sciences, and APA specifically has begun to promote this forum of presentation. In addition to a PDF version of their poster, each author provided a 90-second “blitz” of their study. We encouraged the authors not to try to summarize their entire study in 90 seconds. Rather, ask a provocative question, highlight a counterintuitive finding, or lead with the practical relevance statement that will pique the interest and engagement of the audience. Beyond the video “blitz,” this will function similarly to a traditional poster session, where the authors will host a Zoom room and audience members can engage the authors directly. This will be the opportunity for authors to discuss details or a more comprehensive summary of their study with individual viewers, as well as respond to questions. This session maintains the traditional elements of a poster session, while also providing each author a brief opportunity to frame the relevance and significance of their work to the entire audience. We hope you enjoy!
