Due February 8th, 2019

Division 15 seeks nominations (including self-nominations) for a Representative to the APA Council of Representatives (COR). The COR is the governing body of APA. Council members vote on important policy issues affecting both our division and APA as a whole.  Council members also serve as voting liaisons on the division’s Executive Committee (EC), so have an important and influential role.

Nominations will be reviewed by the Nominations Committee[1] in preparation for a division-wide vote in the spring. This seat is for a three-year term beginning in January, 2020.

The COR meets twice a year, specifically for one weekend in the spring (in D.C.) and for 1.5 days during the APA Convention. APA reimburses for travel expenses to and from these meeting and for two nights lodging. The EC holds a fall retreat, with travel paid for by the division, and also meets during the AERA and APA conventions, and provides a $1,000 travel allotment to be distributed between the two meeting.

Please see the Policy and Procedures Manual (p. 51) on the division website for more information on the position, as well as the COR Handbook.  You may also contact our current council representatives for more information about the position (Avi Kaplan at [email protected] and Sharon Nichols at [email protected] ).

Only Division 15 members who are also members of APA are eligible to run for office. Please send nominations (including self-nominations) to the Past President at [email protected]. Dr. Nussbaum will verify each person’s qualifications and willingness to run. Nominations are due February 8th, 2019.

[1] Members are Michael Nussbaum, Paul Schutz, & Patricia Alexander.
