APA’s Office of Applied Psychology is soliciting nominations for individuals to serve on a time-limited advisory group to help shape the future direction of the association’s applied psychology efforts. As co-chairs of this advisory group, we are writing to request that Division 15 identify two or three individuals who could effectively represent your subdiscipline and nominate them for consideration to serve in this capacity. This pool of nominees will allow us to select advisory group members who are broadly representative of the applied psychology community, including employment setting and multiple aspects of diversity.

The Advisory Group for Applied Psychology, which will launch in June 2019 and continue through December 2019, will have two main charges: 1) to make recommendations about how applied psychology can be better represented in APA’s governance structures and processes; and 2) in the absence of such representation, serve as a source of input and feedback regarding applied psychology issues and priorities broadly.

We anticipate that the advisory group will have monthly virtual meetings and one in-person meeting in the fall, as well as ongoing electronic communication between meetings.

Nomination materials should include:

  • Brief cover letter (no more than one page) describing the nominee’s interest in and qualifications for serving on the advisory group
  • Curriculum vitae or résumé

Please send your nominations to [email protected] by May 17, 2019.

We look forward to working together to help guide APA’s renewed focus on applied psychology.
