Special Issue
Theory into Practice (TIP) is calling for submissions focused on applications of motivation research to practice. TIP is published quarterly by Taylor & Francis, and only publishes special thematic issues. All articles are written about applications of theory and research to practice. TIP does not publish original empirical studies. The articles are relatively short compared with other journals. Additional information about TIP can be found here: https://www.tandfonline.com/toc/htip20/current.

Overview:
Although there are many motivational theories from diverse perspectives, applications of motivation research to practice are still needed that could enhance teaching, learning, and performance. This special issue aims to fill the gap between motivational theories and the practice of educators, learners, school professionals, and practitioners. We will consider articles that reflect diverse motivational theories and processes such as expectancies and values, self-efficacy, attributions, interests, self-determination, goals and goal orientations, identities, emotions, mindsets, and cultures, among others.

We seek conceptual manuscripts, based on data-driven findings, that offer practical solutions and approaches that translate current motivational research trends into practical learning and contextual environments. We invite potential authors to submit a one-page article proposal that includes the following: (a) proposed title of the manuscript and names and affiliations of authors; (b) theoretical background information, including historical influences on contemporary motivational theories from which educational practices would be derived; (c) explanation of how the manuscript fits with the purpose of the special issue and how it advances existing knowledge and motivational practices; (d) description of the specific motivational practices that the manuscript will discuss; (e) description of the age group(s) and/or populations that will be discussed, and (f) recommendations for further study.
