Our collective critical work is underway to improve and grow efforts around equity, diversity, and inclusion. APA is working to further diversify our workforce, expand access to our content and products, and address societal issues that inhibit the rights and wellbeing of people with disabilities.

As a next step, we have retained external consultants to develop and implement an Accessibility and Inclusion Maturity Model (AIMM). A maturity model provides a clear and concise method for measuring the proficiency of accessibility policies and practices. The AIMM will serve as APA’s internal coordinated programmatic structure for disability inclusion.

Your input is vital to help APA succeed in this endeavor. To inform the development of the AIMM, we are administering a disability inclusion survey to staff and members from the Council of Representatives, governance, boards, committees, SPTA’s, and divisions. Data gathered from the assessment will identify and assess concerns and interests surrounding disability inclusion at APA. It will also help us better understand and identify the opportunities and risks relative to executing disability inclusion work.

Whether you are someone who deals directly with disability challenges or not, your contribution to this survey is valued. Please make your voice heard in APA’s disability inclusion survey by Friday, December 17, 2021. We look forward to receiving your feedback. If you have additional questions about the assessment, please reach out to the EDI Office directly.
