As part of APA Division 17 President Mel Wilcox’s presidential initiative Advancing a Critical Counseling Psychology, we have been working together on an Advocacy Training Series in collaboration with the Advancing a Critical Health Service Psychology series (co-sponsored by Divisions 17, 16, and 12). We’re excited to announce the second advocacy training: Writing to Change the World – Op-Ed Training for Psychologists Committed to Social Justice, which will be on Wednesday July 16th from 5 pm to 7 pm ET.
Please join Drs. Kevin Cokley and Helen Neville who will co-present this webinar, each of whom have significant training and experience pitching and writing op-eds as psychologists committed to social justice. Pitching and writing op-eds is an important avenue for public engagement as psychologists. The aim of this webinar is to increase social justice advocacy skills at the macrolevel by helping psychologists gain knowledge and skills on how to write op-eds. During the last 30 minutes of the training, there will be an opportunity for attendees to receive feedback on their pitch ideas so we encourage you to come with ideas!
