Election to Fellow status in Division 15 of the American Psychological Association requires evidence of distinguished contributions or performance in the field of educational psychology.
Division 15 Criteria
- Membership: Must have been a member of APA and of Division 15 for at least one year prior to the application.
- Contributions: Must show evidence of distinguished contributions through published papers or books in scientific, peer-reviewed literature documenting empirical research, theory development, or methodological innovation.
- Impact: The Fellow’s work must have demonstrated a national impact on the field of educational psychology beyond local, state, or regional levels.
Note: Steady and continuing contributions alone are not sufficient to warrant Fellow status.
In addition, some combination of the following accomplishments is desirable:
- Publications that reflect a substantial contribution to scientific knowledge or methods in educational psychology
- Election to leadership positions in major scientific or professional organizations
- Nomination for, and receipt of, awards for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and/or practice
- Clear evidence of attention to issues of diversity, equity, and social justice
- Documented impact on educational policy or practice that reflects Division 15’s values
- Selection for editorships of journals or books relevant to the field
