The Division 44 Children, Youth and Families Committee is organizing a collaborative programming symposium on LGBTQQ youth in schools. We are looking for interested participants (e.g., students, early career professionals, professionals) from other APA divisions and national associations that inform this topic from multiple perspectives including clinical, research, policy areas. Please send your proposal (250-300 words) to Amanda Williams ([email protected]) and Nic Rider ([email protected]) by October 8 11:59 pm. We will review proposals and reach out to those who would like to invite to be part of the proposal by October 11. In your proposal include, your name, your organization, title for presentation, and 250-300 words abstract.
Of note, some potential topics of interest for this collaborative proposal include (but are not limited to) the following:
- inclusivity at different school levels (elementary school, middle school, high school, college)
- bullying
- sexual harassment by peers
- school policy
- disengagement
- etc.
