For, 2013 we anticipate spending more than we bring in this year, by about 20K. Currently the division has about 1 million in assets. Meece turned to a discussion of the long range financial planning that the Division is beginning. A survey of the membership about our spending activities indicated that the main reason people are members is a connection to the profession; and that their first priority for spending is publications, second most important was graduate student mentoring activities. 87% of responders voted in support of raising dues to $22. Meece noted that the rate for “members” has been the same for 16 years. The Division Executive Committee voted to approve the dues increase to $15 for Members, Fellows, & Associates.
