As many of you may recall, we published a special issue of Review of General Psychology in August 2025 on The Next Big Idea. Many of you may be working on manuscripts right now that might fit into the category of “the next big idea” in psychology. We are anticipating publishing another special issue on big ideas next year and are soliciting submissions for this special issue. Here is our anticipated timeline:
- June 1—Submission of a 300-word abstract on the idea on which you are working.
- July 15—Invitation of the top 10–20 abstracts to submit complete manuscripts.
- November 1—Deadline for complete manuscripts to be sent out for regular review.
- June 1—Completion of review process, including initial reviews, revisions, and final reviews.
- August or November 2027—Publication of special issue
Please submit your 300-word abstract (and subsequent completed manuscripts) to president@apadiv1.org by June 1.
